Its powerful induction motor features ball bearings for an extended life and it all comes together with smooth and balanced performance even at high speeds. The ½” chuck gives you versatility with a variety of bits. Worktable bevels 45° left and right for those tricky operations for the perfect right angles consistently. Base has predrilled holes for mounting onto a bench or work stand. Slotted table allows for mounting clamps and vises for effective workholding. Was not properly inspected Assembly was easy. Best instruction manual of any Chinese tool, yet. Turned drill press on and noticed that the RPM LED failed to light up and give a reading. I called Great Lakes Tech Support and left a message. They called back a couple hours later. Impressive. Recommended to return the unit. Acknowledged the probability of a poor inspection. The drill looks to be well made and the chuck spun with a marginal degree of run out. Almost kept this press despite the RPM LED failure, but decided otherwise and returned it. I will reorder another, just to make sure that this was not a “one-off.” If it is better, then I will revise my review.Okay, Amazon was out of stock when I returned this, so I ordered the second one from Home Depot. The product that I received was in much better shape. There is little run-out. The motor had a knocking sound at slow speeds that appears to have lessened, but is still present. The laser was drastically off, but is fairly easy to adjust. It…
