The Glide Gear DNA-1000 stabilization system is our top of the line model and includes counter weights for cameras 0.7 to 1.5lbs. The weight sled can accommodate more weights if needed. Common washers can be used if needed to add additional weight. The DNA-1000 is made for the amatures and pros alike, and you will join the elite few that can really create free-floating motion picture shots with professional cameras anytime, anywhere. It is extremely quick and easy to setup the balance. The cameraplate (cheeseplate) adjusts laterally and fore to aft allowing simple horizontal balancing of your camera. For balancing along the verticle axis, simple follow the system outlined in the manual, which involves adding or removing the counterweights, and/or the telescoping sled, and also adjusting the dynamic sled to perfectly balance the system to your camera. When the system is balanced properly the superlight DNA-1000 will allow the camera to float through the air while taking gracefully smooth shots whether on rough terrain, jogging, or even running up and down stairs. The DNA-1000 allows for unhindered 360deg rotation, booming, panning, and any other type of extreme shooting you can imagine..

Excellent bargain I’ll cut to the chase, then you can read my explanation. The gimbal is perfect, and that’s all the reason you need to purchase this. End of story.I’m an expert in budget stabilizers. I first built a crappy DIY, then a PVC fig rig, then I bought the U Flycam, then the Lensse Mid-X. I thought, what’s so difficult about making an adjustable rod with a joint on it? I just didn’t want to throw down five hundred on a Glidecam – something that didn’t seem worth it when there were significantly cheaper items on the Internet that appeared to do the same thing: hold a camera on a little swivel ball joint (I soon learned was called a gimbal). Both of those times I regretted, yet I took another risk with buying the DNA 1000 simply from the fact that it was half the cost of a Glidecam 1000.You can buy low budget gear all day, but with a stabilizer the one piece of hardware on it that MUST be manufactured well is the gimbal. If the entire stabilizer is solid but the gimbal…

Glide Gear Steadicam Stabilizer I watched some videos on this type of Glide and it looked like it would fit a few shoots I have coming up so purchased the 1000.CONsMy camera is a Canon T3i and it will work with this after I remove all the extra gear that I have hanging on it. Although I would recomend anyone with a larger digital camera should be looking at the larger but more expensive models of Glides. This one is really for small lighter cameras although if you’re handy at moding equipment like me you will find a way to make it work. Also there are no instructions in the box and the screw that holds the camera on will come out when you remove your camera and we all know this means it will be lost someday. So a hint to Glide Gear is there should be some tie or some storage threaded hole on the unit for this screw so when not using the unit it won’t get lost.PROsThey made this the easiest on the market to adjust it is all done with your fingertips and no tools are needed except the screw…
